The Ranji Trophy final will be played between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am IST. Mumbai have so far won 41 Ranji Trophy titles and will be looking to add a 42nd title to their name. Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand, have never won the Ranji Trophy title.

Madhya Pradesh reached the Ranji Trophy final after beating Bengal by 174 runs in the semi-final. Himanshu Mantri and Anubhav Agarwal were the stars with the bat for MP in the game whereas, spinners Kumar Kartikeya and Saransh Jain were instrumental in restricting Bengal from achieving the target.

Mumbai, on the other hand, defeated Uttar Pradesh in the semi-final to qualify for the grand final of Ranji Trophy 2022. Although the game ended in a draw but Mumbai qualified on the basis of the first-inning lead they had over UP. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored centuries in both the innings for Mumbai in the semi-final and their captain Prithvi Shaw has also looked in good touch throughout the tournament.
