Star Sports and JioHotstar have revealed their commentary panel for the upcoming TATA IPL season. They have picked over 160+ voices across several streaming languages in India. Former CSK star Ravichandran Ashwin has also officially joined the IPL commentary panel.
IPL will be entering its 19th edition of the tournament, and over these 18 editions, several players have played in the IPL. They have then gone on to feature as the commentators in the competition and have lent their voice to bring home the epic energy of the field to the screens.
Former Chennai Super Kings player Ravichandran Ashwin has featured in the IPL over the past 18 seasons. He has played across all seasons in the IPL, starting from the 2008 season for the Super Kings. Ashwin represented several other franchises in the IPL history, which included the Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants, and the Rajasthan Royals.

Ashwin retired from IPL ahead of the mini-auction and has now joined the official commentary team. Ashwin has joined the Hindi commentary team on JioStar in a special edition called the 'Championswaali Commentary.'
The former CSK spinner has featured for CSK between 2008 and 2015, as he also won the IPL title in 2010 and 2011 under MS Dhoni's leadership. Hence, he joined the Championswaali commentary team alongside several other former IPL champions.
The other members who are part of the same commentary panel would include former IPL champions Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Aditya Tare, Anil Kumble, Piyush Chawla, and Umesh Yadav and other former players like Irfan Pathan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virender Sehwag and Aakash Chopra.
The IPL 2026 commentary starcast would include several former Indian as well as IPL cricketers. Former Indian stars like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Bangar, Ajay Jadeja, Mohammad Kaif, Saba Karim, Deep Dasgupta, Padamjeet Sehrawat, Anant Tyagi and Sunil Taneja would be part of the Hindi commentary box.
The English commentary box would include many IPL presenters and other former stars who played in the IPL. AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Aaron Finch, Eoin Morgan, Michael Clarke, Mitchell McClenaghan and Deep Dasgupta are among the big names in the English commentary.
It would also comprise Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, Ian Bishop, Simon Doull, Daniel Morrison, Daren Ganga and Graeme Smith among the eminent voices behind the screen. Several other eminent names would include Anjum Chopra, Alan Wilkins, Katey Martin and Murali Kartik.
In the Tamil Commentary, some eminent names include former players Murali Vijay, S Badrinath and L Balaji. Alongside many other cricketers, famous RJ and Tollywood actors, RJ Balaji would also be seen in the same role.
Hanuma Vihari, Krishnappa Gowtham, Veda Krishnamurthy, Manvinder Bisla, Anil Chaudhary, Kiran More, Pravin Tambe, Jhulan Majumdar, Gautam Bhattacharya and Shrijit Mukherjee are among other panelists in the commentary team in languages like Kannada, Haryanvi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Bangla and more.
