Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul had an animated discussion with the on-field umpire over a contentious call during the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The LSG skipper was not happy over the umpire's decision to award his team four runs instead of six on the last ball of the innings. On the final ball of the 20th over, SRH captain Pat Cummins bowled a high full toss outside off to Nicholas Pooran and the latter sliced it towards sweeper cover.

While the ball was looking destined to go for a six, Nitish Reddy made a brilliant effort to stop it from landing on the other side of the boundary cushion. The SRH allrounder timed his jump to perfection and caught the ball as well while being airborne. And as he was falling on the boundary cushion, he released the ball before falling on the rope.

He, however, could not release the ball with force. As a result, the ball ended up touching the boundary cushion. The umpires gave it as a four and KL Rahul was not happy with the decision. The LSG skipper wanted a six as he seemingly believed that the ball fell directly on the boundary rope and not on the ground at first. He was seen having an argument with the umpire at the start of the SRH innings.

Talking about the game, LSG finished their innings on 165 for 4 in 20 overs after Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. LSG were reeling at 66 for 4 in the 12th over before Ayush Badoni and Pooran's unbeaten 99-run stand guided them to a fighting total. Badoni scored 55 while Pooran scored 48.

In reply, SRH were on 126 for no loss inside 7 overs at the time of writing this report. Travis Head was batting on 66 off 21 balls while Abhishek Sharma was on 57 off 21 balls.
