The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already started to break records in the IPL, as he recently completed 500 runs in the IPL and has unlocked a new feat, surpassing the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Virender Sehwag.
The youngster who has been stunning throughout 2025 and 2026, coming into this IPL with that peak form from the previous edition, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been loved by all. The left-hander has scored hundreds across all formats for India against every big opposition in U19 cricket.
Sooryavanshi's IPL form has also been unmatchable, going by his young age. Though just 15 years old, he has already scored 250+ runs and is playing his seventh match of the season. He has made some great contributions in this tournament and has scored two half-centuries while striking at over 250.

The youngster who gained recognition after being brought in by the Rajasthan Royals' former head coach Rahul Dravid for INR 1.10 crore went on to be their best player over the last two seasons.
Coming out to bat in the seventh game of the season, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored two boundaries off the first four balls he faced against Prince Yadav. He looked composed and in form. With those two boundaries, Sooryavanshi took just 227 balls to surpass the 500-run mark in the IPL.
Sooryavanshi became the fastest in IPL history to do so, while going past the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Priyansh Arya, Naman Dhir, and the legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag.

The young batter has been batting at a strike rate of over 250 in general; however, even if he has struggled to start, as in the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, his strike rate has been well within the highs of 160-170.
The left-hander's struggle against the LSG bowlers was something very new that was witnessed in the IPL 2026. Having scored eight runs off Prince Yadva's bowling, he struggled against Mohsin Khan. Khan did not let him free his arms for the first five balls and was then dismissed on the final ball of the over.
Sooryavanshi finally was restless after having scored none for the last 8 balls; he stepped out and tried to heave the ball only to sky it up, ending in a very good catch by Digvesh Rathi.

Mohsin Khan had applied immense pressure on the youngster, who is still very inexperienced to tackle the piling pressure of boundaries not coming easily in the powerplay.
Sooryavanshi might have skied that up, but it would have not ended in a dismissal had it not been for Digvesh Rathi's brilliance. The spinner from Delhi ran back while keeping his eyes on the ball under the lights.
He ended the catch with a fine grab, not popping out anything. He had a lot of pressure on his shoulders after he denied Nicholas Pooran the chance to go for the catch; hence, missing it would have been a massive burden for him throughout the game.
