Indian all-rounder Axar Patel made a massive statement ahead of the squad announcement for the Bangladesh Tests. The left-hander played a fighting knock for his team in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 game against India C, which is underway at the Ananthpur.
Axar Patel, who is representing India D in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024, came up with a sensational effort with the bat in the game against India C. What was impressive was his innings came at a time when the team was under pressure and lost early wickets on the track, which has offered help to bowlers.
Axar Patel came to bat at No.7, and at that time, India D were left reeling at 48/6. However, after that, the all-rounder soaked in all the pressure and bailed his team out of trouble. Although he didn't get the desired support he kept fighting hard for the team till the end.
Patel's game awareness was nothing short of exceptional, as when he realized that he was falling short of partners, he counter-attacked. The right-hander took the attack to the bowlers and made sure that he got some quick runs for his team and took them to the total past 100 runs on the board.

On the 3rd ball of the 49th over, Axar Patel tried to dispatch the delivery from Hrithik Shokeen for a massive six. However, Manav Suthar, in the deep, ran back and put in a magnificent dive to gobble the ball just inches inside the boundary ropes and send the batter packing.

Axar Patel played a vital innings for his team on Day 1 of the game. The all-rounder ended with the knock of 86 runs off 118 balls. The left-hander also slammed 6 fours and 6 sixes in his innings and ensured he took his team to a total past 150 runs.
Apart from Axar, no other batter could get going. No other batter could go past the 15-run mark, which speaks about the poor batting performance. Arshdeep Singh was the second-highest run-scorer for the team with his 13-run knock as he added 84 runs with Patel.
India D got all out for just 164 runs inside 50 overs. Vijaykumar Vyshak was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/19. Along with him, Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan picked two wickets each, while Manav Suthar and Hrithik Shokeen were also among the wickets.
