India all-rounder Axar Patel is turning up the game on its head in the ongoing semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 against England. The match between the Rohit Sharma-led side and the defending champions is underway at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

After India posted a total of 171 runs on the board, Axar Patel made sure that he took his team off to a dream start with the ball. The all-rounder has stepped up big time for his team and put his team at the top of things in the ongoing semi-final against England.

Axar Patel drew the first blood for his team as he removed Jos Buttler first and after that, he didn't look back as he then went on to remove Jonny Bairstow in the next over that he bowled. The all-rounder produced a peach of a delivery to send the batter packing.

Axar Patel bowled a full delivery that was just outside off. Jonny Bairstow didn't get his feet close to the ball and fished at it with his hands, playing for the turn. The ball landed just outside off and just went on with the arm to hit off-stump and leave the bowler delighted.

But what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Virat Kohli after Jonny Bairstow got out. The India batter was at his aggressive best as he abused the batter as he walked back to the pavilion.

Here are the videos:

Jonny Bairstow bagged a three-ball duck as England came under pressure. With his wicket, the defending champions were left tottering at 35/3. Axar Patel provided a breakthrough for his team earlier as well when Jos Buttler was going great guns. He removed the batter for 23 runs.

After the double strike by Axar Patel, the all-rounder then went on to remove Moeen Ali as well for 8 runs. Kuldeep Yadav also joined the party. The leg-spinner has spun the web around the England batters and has taken wickets in quick succession of the time.

England has lost their front-line batters and the onus now will be on the Liam Livingstone to take the team home. The defending champions are left tottering at 72/7 and the all-rounder now would be hoping to counterattack and take his team home.

Hope we'll go past the line - Liam Livingstone

Liam Livingstone, who bowled an economical spell with the ball, talked about his performance with the ball. He said that skipper Jos Buttler told him to make the batters hit to the longer boundary. He also talked about the conditions, saying that they are hopeful of winning. He added:

"Just to try and keep things simple (on what was said by Buttler to him), bowl into the wicket, keep it straight and make them hit to the longer boundary.

"The pitch is staying low and slow, we knew that, let's see how it does in the second innings, hopefully, we'll chase it down, have a lot of firepower in that dressing room, I hope we'll go past the line," he concluded.
