Axar Patel scores 15 runs

Delhi Capitals lost the toss and were invited to bat first in the match. The pitch on the offer has looked like a tricky one, and the Delhi Capitals batters have found it hard to get going.

Most of the DC batters played a sluggish knock, and Axar Patel was one of them. The DC skipper Axar Patel tried his best but could only score 15 runs off 13 balls, with one four and one six, before taking a long walk back to the pavilion.

On the fourth ball of the 14th over, Josh Hazlewood bowled a 136.5 kmph back-of-a-length delivery to Axar Patel.

The DC skipper tried to swipe it across the line but ended up playing down the wrong line, and the ball crashed into the stumps. After the dismissal of Axar Patel, Virat Kohli went wild, and he celebrated aggressively.

So I'm sure one of them will certainly do that - Anil Kumble on the Kantara celebration

In an interaction on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the match, Anil Kumble was asked if Virat Kohli would emulate KL Rahul's 'Kantara/ This is my home ground' celebration, which he did in the RCB vs DC match in Bengaluru. He replied:

"So Kantara 1 has happened. So Kantara 2 is in the offing. The movie as well. So I'm sure one of them will certainly do that. Either it's Virat or Rahul."

Talking further about Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble said that he needs to bat deep, and he will be an important batsman for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He elaborated:

"He's a crucial piece in the puzzle. I mean, you know, especially at home where the pitches have not been ideal like how it used to be. So the three games that you're referring to is where he didn't score runs. However, I think for RCB he becomes a very crucial player especially when you bat first. Then you don't know what's a good score because they look to come hard, Phil Salt. It doesn't really matter.

"He'll certainly go hard at the opposition bowlers. Then you have Rajat Patidar. Devdutt Padikkal has been a fantastic addition to RCB. He's done exceptionally well. In that kind of a situation you would like Virat to sort of bat through at least for a longer period of time especially when RCB bat first. If they're batting second I mean, he's a master of chases.

"So you know what's the score that you need to get and then you'll add a bat accordingly. So in that sense, he becomes a very important batter for RCB especially if they're batting first."
