However, a Mumbai Indians' support staff was reportedly seen using a mobile phone during the match against the Gujarat Titans, raising concerns about a potential breach of tournament protocol.
Mumbai Indians suffered a narrow loss to Gujarat Titans in a rain-affected thriller at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 6.
The Titans secured a three-wicket victory on the final ball via the DLS method. Following the loss, the Hardik Pandya-led team dropped to fourth place in the points table.

The incident took place during a rain interruption break in the Gujarat Titans' innings. MI skipper Hardik Pandya was seen walking down the steps to the field.
However, one player from the MI camp was seen talking on his phone behind the boundary line.

GT were ahead on the DLS when the first break came in the 14th over. But after the second rain delay, they were behind, and 15 were needed off the final over.
Rahul Tewatia (11* off 8) and Gerald Coetzee (12 off 6) held their nerves, taking the game to the last ball.
Arshad Khan hit the winning run and escaped a run-out chance as Hardik Pandya missed the stumps. The nail-biting finish helped GT reclaim the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table.

Mumbai Indians struggled with the bat after being sent in first against Gujarat Titans. They got off to a shaky start as both openers, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, fell early in the powerplay.
However, Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav stabilized the innings with a 71-run partnership for the third wicket.
Jacks top-scored with 53 off 35 balls, while Yadav added 35 off 24 balls. Their dismissals triggered a regular fall of wickets, with only Corbin Bosch offering some resistance.
Bosch scored 27 runs off 22 balls. R Sai Kishore was the pick of the Gujarat bowlers, claiming two crucial wickets in his spell.

Gujarat Titans pulled off a dramatic three-wicket win against Mumbai Indians in a rain-hit thriller at Wankhede Stadium.
The Ahmedabad-based team lost Sai Sudharsan early, but captain Shubman Gill (43 off 46) and Jos Buttler (30 off 27) added a 72-run partnership for the second wicket.
From 107/2, GT slumped to 132/6 with brilliant spells from Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, who claimed two wickets each.
Sherfane Rutherford revived the chase with 28 runs off 15 balls, including two fours and two sixes, but quick wickets from Bumrah, Boult, and Ashwani Kumar put MI in control.
