Virat Kohli In Nets

While most of the Indian players were in the dressing room, having their lunch and taking a rest on day three of the ongoing first India vs Bangladesh Test in Chennai, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal decided otherwise.

Both the batters decided to leave the comfort of the dressing room and train in the sweltering Chennai heat. They were seen batting in the training nets during the lunch break on Saturday (September 21). Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal took turns to bat in the nets while facing throwdowns from the members of the support staff.

Virat Kohli had a forgettable outing with the bat in the Test. The former India skipper failed to do well with the bat in both innings. He was out for 6 runs in the first innings before being dismissed for 17 runs in the second innings.

On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal had a mixed outing. While the youngster played a fine 56-run knock in the first innings, he could score only 10 runs in the second. Both the batters will be looking to bounce back in the second Test against Bangladesh.

India in driver's seat:

Talking about the game, Team India are firmly in command and look destined to register an easy win in the first IND vs BAN Test. On Saturday (September 21), the hosts declared their second innings on 287/4 and set Bangladesh an improbable target of 515 runs.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant led India's charge with the bat by scoring brilliant tons. India were off to a poor start in the second innings as well as the likes of Rohit Sharma (5), Yashasvi Jaiswal (10) and Virat Kohli (17) failed to do well with the bat.

However, Gill and Pant did not let Bangladesh capitalize on the breakthroughs. They shared a big stand of 167 runs for the fourth wicket to put India in the driver's seat. Mehidy Hasan Miraz broke the stand by dismissing Pant for 109 runs.

On the other hand, Gill remained unbeaten on 119 runs while KL Rahul was unbeaten on 22 when captain Rohit Sharma declared the innings. Earlier in the game, Team India recovered from 144/6 to post 376 runs in their first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja starred with the bat, scoring 113 and 86 runs respectively.

In reply, Bangladesh were all out for 149 runs. After the dismal display with the bat in the first innings, Bangladesh will be looking to put up a good show in the second innings.
