Virat Kohli And Shakib Al Hasan

Virat Kohli could not deliver with the bat in the ongoing first India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The former India skipper was out for low scores in both the innings of the Test. In the first innings, he was dismissed for just six runs by Hasan Mahmud. After Mahmud bowled a full delivery outside the off stump, Virat Kohli went for a drive but ended up edging the ball to Litton Das behind the stumps.

Just like the first innings, the veteran batsman had to come out to bat early in the second innings as well after India lost two quick wickets. Bangladesh sent back Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal inside seven overs.

After the departure of the openers, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill steadied the ship and took India's score past the 50-run mark. Kohli, however, did not last long and departed after scoring only 17 runs. In the 20th over of the innings, he was adjudged lbw off Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Kohli's 17-run knock came off 37 balls.

While Kohli could not do much with the bat in the game, he managed to leave the commentators as well as fans in splits with a hilarious comment. The incident took place during India's second innings when he was standing at the non-striker's end.

The stump mic caught Kohli calling Shakib Al Hasan 'Malinga' (former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga) for bowling a number of yorkers to him.

"You are my Malli, Malinga," Virat Kohli told Shakib. When the Bangladesh allrounder looked a bit surprised by Kohli's comments, the India batting superstar hilariously told him, "Tu Malinga bana hua hai. Yorker pe yorker de rha hai."

Talking about the game, India ended day two on 81 for 3. After Kohli was dismissed, Gill and Rishabh Pant saw off the remaining overs. Gill was unbeaten on 33 while Pant was unbeaten on 12.

Earlier in the day, India bowled out Bangladesh for just 149 runs to put themselves in the driver' seat. Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball for the home side, taking 4 wickets. In the first innings, India had recovered from 144/6 to post 376 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja impressed with the bat, scoring 113 and 86 runs respectively.
