India registered a dominant victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle. The visitors registered a 165-run win after bowling Sri Lanka out for 206 in their second innings.

India piled up massive 462 in 1st innings, thanks to Devdutt Padikkal

India elected to bat first in Galle and posted a massive 462 runs in their first innings. Devdutt Padikkal was the star with the bat as he scored a brilliant 167 runs off 230 balls, smashing 15 fours and one six.

KL Rahul also made a valuable contribution with 82 runs off 175 balls, while Rishabh Pant scored 39 and Dhruv Jurel added 51 runs. India also got useful contributions from Manav Suthar (24), Ravindra Jadeja (13) and Kuldeep Yadav (13*).

For Sri Lanka, Prabath Jayasuriya was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Keshara Nuwantha claimed three wickets. Asitha Fernando also picked up two wickets.

Sri Lanka, however, put up a strong fight in their first innings. Sonal Dinusha scored a century, making 100 off 168 balls, while Niroshan Dickwella contributed 80 runs. Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 284, giving India a lead of 178 runs.

India bowled Sri Lanka out for 284 and piled up 193

India's bowlers kept the pressure on Sri Lanka after the hosts were bowled out for 284. Manav Suthar was the standout performer with the ball, claiming four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets. Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took one wicket each.

India then added another 193 runs in their second innings to set Sri Lanka a daunting target of 372 runs. Rishabh Pant led the scoring with a quick 66 off 69 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal made 44 and KL Rahul contributed 35.

Shubman Gill, who scored 16 in the first innings, managed only eight runs in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck, while Jadeja and Suthar added nine runs each.

Prabath Jayasuriya once again led Sri Lanka's bowling attack, taking three wickets, while Asitha Fernando claimed four wickets.

India crushed Sri Lanka to register a dominant Test win in Galle

Sri Lanka needed 372 runs to win the Test but were bowled out for 206, handing India a convincing 165-run victory.

Dhananjaya de Silva fought hard for Sri Lanka with 59 runs off 151 balls, while Sonal Dinusha followed up his first-innings century with an unbeaten-looking resistance of 84 runs off 128 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to provide enough support.

Manav Suthar once again impressed with the ball, taking six wickets in Sri Lanka's second innings. He was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja and Prasidh Krishna, who picked up two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj also claimed one wicket.
