Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli doffed his hat to champion all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja after the CSK veteran pulled off one of the greatest all-round performances in a T20 game to maul the Challengers in Mumbai.

Jadeja was at his imperious best in all the facets of his game on Sunday afternoon. The swashbuckling southpaw, who was dropped by Dan Christian when he was on 0, smashed Harshal Patel for 37 runs in the final over to rack up an unbeaten 28-ball 62.

He wasn’t done yet though. Jadeja then proceeded to weave his magic with the ball as he claimed three wickets for 13 runs in his four overs which included prized scalps of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell. And, if that wasn’t enough, he then ran out Dan Christian with a direct hit.

Kohli was chuffed about the great all-round performance by his premier all-rounder and also admitted that his team was probably beaten by one man.

This is RCBs first loss of the season and Virat Kohli was relieved that a poor performance like the one they put up is out of its way in the early part of the season.

Harshal Patel was having a brilliant day in the field as he claimed three wickets for just 14 runs in his first three overs. But it turned out to be an absolute nightmare in the end thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s exploits.

Kohli, however, added that he will keep giving the responsibility to his premier death bowler in the upcoming games as he hopes to shrug off the indifferent performance and start afresh.

”You have to look at it the right way. It’s come at the right time for us. You have to understand the things that went wrong. I think this is positive feedback for our side. It’s good to get a performance like this out of the way early in the season. We were there most of the moments in the game, but the key ones we lost badly. Jaddu displaying his skills took the game away from us. You can probably say one guy beat us,” said Virat Kohli.

”We will continue to give him responsibility [Harshal] he got both the set batsmen out and plucked all the momentum away. We have to look at this in the right way. Brush it aside and learn from it. We will continue to use guys at 3 because we have Maxi and AB to follow. We will continue to use that depth. We’ll throw in guys there and ask them to change the game for us. [Jadeja] I am very happy to see him perform with the bat, ball and on the field. Always a pleasure to see your premier all-rounder do well with the bat,” he added.
