ICC World Cup 2019

The 2019 World Cup was the twelfth edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup. The 2019 Cricket World Cup was played in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14, 2019. It was the fifth time that England had hosted the World Cup, while Wales did it for the third time.

While 14 teams participated in the 2015 Cricket World Cup, it was reduced to 10 for the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup. After a round-robin format for all the teams, the top four teams qualified for the semifinals. India, Australia, England and New Zealand progressed ahead of the league stage.

In the semifinal, England beat Australia while New Zealand beat India to set up a mouth-watering final at the Lord's. It was England's fourth final in the Cricket World Cup and New Zealand's second. Both the teams were eyeing their first-ever World Cup title.

The final ended in a tie after the match ended with both teams scoring 241 runs, followed by the first Super Over in an ODI. England were declared the winners on the boundary countback rule after the Super Over also failed to separate the teams.
