Though it is an international game, it has also got a few comedy of errors, which played a major role in halting the games. 5. When Nathan Lyon Burnt A Toast:

Well, it might read silly but yeah, it has happened in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield at Brisbane. It was the match that was being played in between Queensland and New South Wales.

NSW Blues are all set to win the game with only 18 runs required to chase down the tally. But, unfortunately, the game was halted, as the fire alarms in the stadiums buzz out. The umpires and the officials felt that there was a fire burst out in the stadium, which made them stop the game and call Fire Engine help.

But, the real reason behind it was Nathan Lyon. Lyon failed to burn his toast in the right way when the excessive smoke set the Fire Alarms on. It was one of those funny incidents in the game and was headlined for quite a few days. After knowing the reason, the game got underway after 30 minutes of stoppage.

4. Late food delivery at Bloemfontein:

This comes from the International game when Bangladesh and South Africa locked horns at Bloemfontein. It was the game when Bloemfontein citizens are waiting for a long time to see the Test cricket coming back to the city.

However, it wasn’t gone down well, as the players delayed their presence on the field when the food was delivered late to the players. The officials trusted the caterers to deliver the food in time, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.

Later, it was revealed that a wrongly printed menu was the source of the delay, the office-bearers at the Bloemfontein ground were pretty embarrassed for the incident, which cause the delay of the game.

3. Bees Attack Kandy:

This incident took place when Sri Lankans and Englishmen are involved in a Test match. Bees have been the cause of concern way back in 1981 when those species even harmed the players. But, it was the last time before they made their presence after 26 years.

A group of those species entered the stadium, which left the players and the officials surprised and also scared. However, the presence of mind of the on-field umpire helped all the individuals on the field to escape the danger.

He asked everyone to lay down flat on the ground. After a brief time, the bees vanished from the stadium, which took away at least 30 minutes of the game. However, it was one of the memorable incidents of the game.

It was the match where the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant was part of. Later, the officials caught the person, who already made a couple of rounds in the stadium.

He was handed over to policemen after the incident. However, the individual cited that he entered into the ground unknowingly. His version looked honest for the Delhi police, who left him out with a warning and the route for his original address.

1. When sunlight halted the game:

Yeah, you read it right. The excessive sunlight has halted an international game. The incident took place in India’s tour of New Zealand 2019. To be precise, it was in the first ODI game at Napier.

It was Shikhar Dhawan of Indian National Cricket Team, who was at the crease while expressing his concern for the umpire, who has got nothing to do rather than stopping the game. It was learnt that sunlight was straight into the eyes of the batsman.

As there was no technology to reduce the sunlight, the game was halted for at least a good 30 minutes of time. However, later, they continued to play the game when Sun went down a bit.
