Though the veteran cricketer, AB de Villiers is out from International cricket scene, however, he is making himself available to be close to the gentleman’s game. The specialist batsman is also being named as the brand ambassador of next UAE T20X tourney in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He reckons it will be a bright spot for the Associate nations as well as its players.
South African superstar de Villiers wants to give something back to the game of cricket. He added the emergence of the new competition would help the Associate nations in developing their players to the next level.

The former Proteas skipper added that the advantages for youngsters by the new tourney pushed him to be the ambassador of the tourney. He reiterated the players would get an exposure to showcase their skills.
De Villiers went on to share his experience as the youngster signing deal in Indian Premier League (IPL). He also revealed his moments with legendary Australian players and sharing a dressing room with former greats of the game.
“The main thing that attracted me the most to this tournament is what it will do for young, emerging players. It will give them a great opportunity to play alongside some of the world’s best players,” De Villiers told The National.
“Not long ago, I was a youngster when I started playing cricket,” De Villiers said.
“I made my IPL debut 10 or 11 years ago. One of my fondest memories of the tournament was spending time with guys like [former Australian cricketers] Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne – some legends of the game, who I did not have a reach-out to [before the IPL], you know,” he added.

The former Proteas player explains how things could fall in place for the UAE cricket. He also mentioned the income which would lift UAE cricket to become far superior
“And because of this [long-term approach], it has made the grassroots development of the game at the heart of its tournament – the UAE T20x,” De Villiers explained.
“I think will generate new income streams for UAE cricket for the coming years, and that can be reinvested directly into the grassroots of the game – into coaching, facilities, for an infrastructure of cricket in the UAE. So I think locally for UAE and UAE cricket, it’s a great, great concept,” he added.
However, it has been quite a sweet news for AB de Villiers’ fans. It is learnt that he might extend playing for the different franchises for coming 3-4 years.
