Asia Cup 2018, Super 4 Match 1: India vs Bangladesh, Dubai - Match Prediction

The Men in Blue (India) are all set to play their third match of the Asia Cup 2018 campaign when they meet Bangladesh in the Super four clash at the Dubai International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). What’s your match prediction for the day?

They will be highly confident after their sensational victory against Pakistan. Hong Kong gave them a massive scare in their opening clash.

However, they managed to stage a comeback and win the clash by 26 runs. In the second clash, they outclassed Pakistan in all three departments of the game ended up winning the match quite convincingly by eight wickets and with more than 21 overs to spare.

They were utterly ruthless in all three departments of the game and thrashed Pakistan quite convincingly. The form of the batters will keep them in good stead ahead of their first Super 4 game.

The Men in Blue will start as the outright favourites and will look to get their first victory of the Super 4 stage.

India was forced to bring in three changes:

India has been pegged with injuries. The team was forced to bring in three new faces for the rest of the tournament. Hardik Pandya’s absence will surely hurt India given the fact that he has been an asset for India especially in the limited-overs format.

Deepak Chahar has been named as his replacement. The injury to Hardik might also give an extra opportunity to Khaleel Ahmed to showcase his skills especially after a great performance against Hong Kong.

However, he had to sit out in the match against Pakistan in favour of Jasprit Bumrah.

If the team management decides to improve their batting and chose a like-for-like replacement for Pandya, then Ravindra Jadeja might finally make his return to the One-day International squad following the Champions Trophy 2017 last year.

Meanwhile Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be a worried unit especially after a pretty ordinary performance against Afghanistan.

They have to recover pretty fast in the difficult conditions. Eventually, they will hope to put up a much-improved performance against India. Mushfiqur Rahim who was rested from the second match against the Afghans will definitely make a comeback.

Rahim is a big match player and showed in the first clash that what he is capable. He single-handedly helped Bangladesh post a competitive total on the board.

Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman is also expected to make a return after being rested for the second match. However, his replacement and debutant Abu Hider bowled superbly against Afghanistan.
