Axar Patel Gifts Himself Landrover Discovery

Indian allrounder Axar Patel, who has now become an important member of India’s limited-overs team, has gifted himself a new ride – Landrover Discovery. The 23-year old revealed the news through an Instagram story. Axar’s new premium SUV is priced between Rs 40.57 lakh and Rs 53.58 lakh.

Career back on track:

After remaining in the shadow of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar has finally managed to turn his career around and is now considered a vital cog in the team. The left-arm spinner, who initially got a place in the playing only in Jadeja’s absence, is now an integral part of the limited-overs side.

Axar turned his career around after he was recalled for the ODI series in Sri Lanka along with Yuzvendra Chahal following Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja’s lukewarm performances in limited-overs cricket.

He justified the decision by taking six wickets in four games at an economy rate of just 3.85 in India’s 5-0 hammering of Sri Lanka and was subsequently rewarded with a place in the team for the series against Australia and New Zealand.

An untimely injury saw Kuldeep Yadav taking his place in the playing against Australia and impressing but the fact that the team management played him in the couple of ODIs and as many T20Is ahead of Kuldeep against New Zealand proves that he features prominently in team’s plans.

Moreover, his ability to contribute with the bat and fielding ability makes him an asset in today’s game. His ability to contain batsmen augurs very well with modern cricket’s demand. His economy rate of just over 4 and 6 in ODIs and T20Is respectively speaks volumes of his ability and the Gujarat-born star will be looking to live up to the expectations in the coming days.
