Since the time Sourav Ganguly catapulted into the position of power as the BCCI President, he has taken several measures to upgrade the state of Indian cricket even more. At the Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held on Sunday, several matters were discussed. Amongst all of them, one of it was the Prince of Kolkata proposing to install a hall of fame for players who have delivered some incredible performances in the Indian Premier League.

The BCCI members met on Sunday for their 88th AGM in Mumbai. The amendments addressed in the constitution would be sent for permission to the Supreme Court. It was also decided that the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will be the representative of the Board in the ICC CEC meetings. Since the inception of the Indian Premier League in the year 2008, players from India and overseas have left their mark.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has decided to commemorate the contribution of some players for their exquisite performances in the competition that is eleven years old now. Further, he also hinted at providing his permission for the T20 extravaganza to take place outside of India. However, the royalty fees for making it happen abroad is yet to come under detailed discussion.

“IPL hall of fame for players who have delivered exceptional performance in the T20 league,” the 46-year old said as quoted by India Today.

Meanwhile, the left-handed batsman announced curtains for MSK Prasad’s tenure in the selection committee as a chairman by making a statement “you cannot go beyond your tenure.” He went on to say that we will fix a specific term for selectors and that it isn’t right to appoint selectors every year.

“Tenures are finished. You cannot go beyond tenure. They have done a good job. We will fix a term for selectors and it is not right to appoint selectors every year.” he added with regards to the appointment of the selectors.
