DC vs KKR: Yuvraj Singh Questions Kolkata Knight Riders For Dropping "Match-Winner" Pat Cummins

Yuvraj Singh, who has played for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) questioned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for not including their ace pacer Pat Cummins in an important match against the DC franchise in the ongoing IPL 2022 on April 28, 2022.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) came into the 41st match of the IPL 2022 against Delhi Capitals (DC) having lost four matches in a row and having won only 3 matches out of 8 they had played before this encounter. They were placed just above Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the points table.

Therefore, many expected KKR to field their best playing XI against a DC team that was also looking for redemption. KKR had to miss the services of their Australian imports Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins in the last matches as they were suffering from some niggles.

However, when the time for toss came, which was won by Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, who chose to bowl first and announced that DC had made two changes Mitchell Marsh was back in the XI after recovering from COVID-19, and also Chetan Sakariya made his DC debut in place of injured Khaleel Ahmed.

Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, announced that KKR had made three changes as Aaron Finch was back, Baba Indrajith, and Harshit Rana made their debuts for the two-time IPL champions.

Iyer said at the toss: “I would have looked to bowl as well because of the chasing history. But the dew has gone out completely and it is very humid as well. I feel the players have to stand up for themselves and take responsibility to finish games off themselves. We have three changes: Finch, Harshit Rana, Indrajith come in. The combinations haven’t worked for us in the last few games, and we are trying to find a settled combination. We have to win six in six now to qualify, so one game at a time.”

I’m So Surprised To See Pat Cummins Sit Out: Yuvraj Singh Questions KKR

Like many other KKR fans, even Yuvraj Singh wondered why Pat Cummins was not part of the XI. He played one of the best match-winning innings of 56* MI in this IPL, which included him equaling the record of fastest IPL fifty in 14 balls.

Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter and posted: “I’m so surprised to see @patcummins30 sit out unless he’s injured? World class all-rounder. If someone has had 2 3 tough games, does it mean u stop believing in your match winners?  cause they can win you 3 in a row aswell !!just my opinion #DCvKKR”

Though Cummins has one good inning with the bat in 4 matches, he has picked 4 wickets at an economy of 12 and has best bowling figures of 2/49.
