Dinesh Karthik Picks Three Players From KKR He Would Exchange For Kagiso Rabada, Shreyas Iyer, And Ravichandran Ashwin From Delhi Capitals

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday as his side beat David Warner’s SunRisers Hyderabad convincingly by seven wickets in Abu Dhabi. It helped KKR open their account following the loss in their opening loss to Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik revealed the three players he would trade from Delhi Capitals.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who plays for Delhi Capitals, hosted his fellow countryman and KKR captain Dinesh Karthik in a show on Youtube named “Hello Dubaiaah”. The duo spoke on a plethora of topics, including the intimidation that Andre Russell evokes when he walks out to bat. Ashwin played in Delhi Capitals’ first game, injuring his shoulder and is still in recovery. He had a stellar first over, taking two wickets in his debut for the franchise.

Ravichandran Ashwin presented a hypothetical scenario in front of Dinesh Karthik, referring to a movie, and asked him to trade three players from Delhi Capitals.

I’ll give you a hypothetical scenario. In the movie Pandavar Bhoomi, there’s one family. So, you have to the opportunity to adopt three and give me three to adopt,” Ashwin asked Karthik.

In response, Dinesh Karthik picked Kagiso Rabada by opting to sacrifice Lockie Ferguson. The second player the keeper-batsman is Delhi Capitals’ skipper Shreyas Iyer for Nitish Rana followed by Ravichandran Ashwin by giving away Sunil Narine.

From your team Rabada. I’ll give Lockie Ferguson and take Kagiso Rabada. Another player… Who’s our No.3? Nitish Rana. So, I’ll give Nitish Rana to Delhi take Shreyas Iyer. Sunil Narine for R Ashwin,” the 35-year old keeper-batsman responded.

The 34-year old off-spinner felt touched by Karthik’s generous nature and remarked “Heart’s been touched. He’s an opener too but I’m like for like replacement. Thank you so much,” the 71-Test veteran mentioned.

Delhi Capitals are the table-toppers having won both their matches so far, which was against Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Kolkata will square off against Rajasthan Royals on the 30th of September in Dubai.
