England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has revealed that Kuldeep Yadav is someone against whom the batsmen have tried picking up a lot more after facing him during the recently-concluded limited-overs series.

So, their experience will definitely keep them in the right stead. He further stated that important information will be passed to players like Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings before the kick off of the Test series in Birmingham on August 1st.

Kuldeep bagged a five-wicket haul during the opening Twenty20 International. But, he went for runs in the second T20I and was subsequently dropped from the Bristol encounter.

However, the promising youngster bounced back strongly and bagged six wickets in the opening ODI. However, he was made toothless after Joe Root smashed two consecutive centuries and helped England win the ODI series by a 2-1 margin.

Kuldeep has found things tougher as the series has progressed. The English batters will definitely line him up and will try to make sure that he doesn’t get settled.

“Kuldeep Yadav was someone that the guys, gradually as the series went on, learnt a lot more about, getting used to his variations and his different angle of attack,” Buttler said.

Information on Kuldeep will be shared with the Test specialists, says Jos Buttler

“He’s someone who the guys who played in the one-day series will have seen. There will be some shared information. Alastair Cook is a fantastic player of spin so there will be little pointers the guys who have played against him can share,” Buttler maintained.

“Maybe his angle of attack. You saw as the one-day series goes on, you can look at copious amounts of video and analysis but until you actually get out there in the middle and face someone yourself, there’s only so much you can do,” he remarked.

Buttler made a comeback to the Test squad during the Test series against Pakistan. It was on the back of his exceptional performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and limited overs cricket.

Interestingly, Leg-spinner Adil Rashid has also broken into the Test squad after a long time. The reason is almost the same.

However, the key difference is that Buttler still wants to play red-ball cricket but Rashid has not played first-class cricket for more than a year.

“I’m excited for him. He’s shown his class as a bowler back in the India and Bangladesh Test matches. He’s bowling as well as I’ve ever seen him bowl. He looks full of confidence, full of character and excited about the challenge,” Buttler pointed out.

“At times [India could pick him]. He’s a guy with excellent variation. I think you very rarely pick every single delivery wrist-spinner bowls. He’s got a good disguise and I’m sure he will take the confidence he has been bowing with all summer into the Test matches,” he concluded.
