Test cricket has seen some fierce batsmen over the years. There have been various record-makers and record-breakers who have gone on to set new milestones in the longest and oldest format of the game. In this report, we’ll have a look at the top five fastest triple centuries in Test cricket ever.

From Virender Sehwag to David Warner, there have been numerous players who have scored a triple hundred in Test cricket. However, there have been some players who have done it in the most ferocious way possible.

These players have taken the least deliveries to hit a triple century and have been the anchor of one of the best innings of the format.

Australian opener David Warner hit his maiden triple hundred in Test cricket at the Adelaide Oval during the 2nd Test versus Pakistan. Warner’s triple hundred was actually the 1st from an Australian since former captain Michael Clarke hit 329* vs India in January 2012.

Warner’s 300 came off 389 balls making it the 4th fastest triple hundred ever in the history of Test cricket. This was only the 2nd triple-hundred in the history of Day-night Test matches after Azhar Ali’s 302* vs West Indies in Dubai, 2016

His innings was loaded with 39 fours and a six. He had a staggering strike-rate of above 80 in the innings.

On 26 November 2016, Karun Nair made his Test debut against England at Mohali. He scored his maiden Test century in the final match of the series at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, going on to finish 303 not out.

Nair’s innings was laden with 32 boundaries and four 6s. He took only 381 balls to score the triple-century.

With this feat, Nair became only the second Indian batsman to hit a triple hundred in Tests after Virender Sehwag and the third player, after Bob Simpson and Sir Garfield Sobers, to convert their maiden Test centuries into triple centuries.

India won the match by an innings and 75 runs, and Nair was named as the player of the match.

Virender Sehwag hit 309 against Pakistan in their own back yard in the first Test of the series in Multan. He earned the nickname, Sultan of Multan, after his record-breaking knock against the arch-rivals.

Laxman had held the record for the highest score by an Indian in Test cricket when he scored 281 against Australia in the famous Kolkata Test in 2001 at the Eden Gardens.

In an innings that lasted for 530 minutes, Sehwag smashed 309 off 375 balls in the first Test.

Australian legend Matthew Hayden played one of his most decorated Test innings against Zimbabwe in 2003 when he went on to score a triple-century.

Hayden has been one of the greatest batsmen ever to take up the sport and has been Australia’s legendary player across formats.

His triple-century in 362 deliveries. He went on to finish the innings at 380 runs scoring 38 boundaries and eleven 6s in the process.

One of the most fast-paced games in a Test match witnessed Virender Sehwag unleash his fury on South Africa’s bowlers, as he played a masterful 319-run knock at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in 2008.

Virender Sehwag became the fourth batsman, along with Brain Lara, Don Bradman, and Chris Gayle, to score 2 triple centuries in his international Test career.

Batting for over 150 hours in the excruciating Chennai heat, Virender Sehwag went berserk as he scored 319 off just 308 balls with a mammoth 42 boundaries and five sixes.

Despite the match being drawn, all eyes were on Virender Sehwag for his spectacular knock, another one that remains etched in the memorie3s of Indian cricket fans.
