Ian Chappell Vocal about Eradication of Send-Offs and On-Field Chatters from Cricket

Channel 9 analyst and commentator, Ian Chappell, vouched for the eradication of misbehaviour in a game proclaimed to be for gentlemen’s.
The former Australian captain suggested there is no place for a misdemeanour in the laws of cricket.
The modern game of cricket received a major blow off-late with players handed fines and suspension for their behaviour. Shakib al Hasan, David Warner, Quinton de Kock, and Kagiso Rabada have been punished lately for their code of conduct.
“This won’t occur until all concerned — players, coaches, umpires and administrators — stop saying that chatter is ‘a part of the game’. My first response to anyone making that declaration would be; ‘Show me in the law book where it states that,” wrote Ian Chappell for Mid-day.
Further, Chappell feels there is no place for violent behaviours such as send-offs and chatter from the fielding sides. And that, such conduct should be eradicated from the game of cricket.
Chappell takes a jibe at the Indian team for choosing to respond to on-field chatter from Aussies,
“The two main forms of this unruly behaviour are incessant and inane chatter from the fielding side and the successful bowler giving the dismissed batsmen a send-off. Both forms of misbehaviour are uncalled for and should be eradicated,” Chappell adds to his column.
Also, during the second half of his column, the Australian points seemed surprised that a team like India, renowned for being docile traditionally, chooses to give it back to the Aussies.
Additionally, he asked the players to ask to learn from Rahul Dravid’s nature which induces a relatively powerful effect.
“It surprises me that teams like India choose to respond to Australian taunts in a similar manner. A well-timed smile or chuckle from someone as cerebral as Rahul Dravid would have a far more damming effect,” the 74-year old reckons.
Furthermore, before the start of the high octane series between South Africa and Australia, captain Steven Smith intended to rattle up Kagiso Rabada, who had five demerit point already to his name.
Subsequently, Rabada was handed a two-match ban which prohibits him from taking further part in the series.
“Premeditated plans to verbally unsettle an opponent are not part of the game. They should be eradicated by strong officiating. If they’re not, then the players should take the law into their own hands; that WILL guarantee swift action,” concluded Ian Chappell.
