ICC ODI Rankings: Mustafizur Rahman Enters Top Five, Attains Career-Best Ratings

The latest ICC ODI Rankings are out, and a few of the players have gained a massive rise on the table. Of late, Bangladesh defeated the Windies 2-1 in the ODI series, and their players are amongst highest achievers. Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have come a long way on the rankings table. Alongside them, Windies batsman Shai Hope also found himself rising the ladder.

Rahim, Rahman gain points

The left-arm pacer, Mustafizur Rahman entered the top five in the bowler’s rankings for the first time. Rahman, who picked five wickets in three games rose to 695 points to sit at the fifth position. Moreover, spinner Mehidy Hasan, who had the better off Hetmyer on all three occasions shot up 19 spots to no. 28. Hasan was also the best bowler in the series, picking up six wickets at an average of 16.33.

Also, Mashrafe Mortaza, the Bangladesh captain, who also bagged six wickets rose up ten places to no. 23. Shakib Al Hasan, the Test skipper, also remains on the 26th spot, keeping Bangladesh’s quartet in top 30.

Shai Hope rises the ladder on the rankings table

Meanwhile, for the Windies, not many starred with either bat or ball except batsman Shai Hope and pacer Kemo Paul. Hope, on two consecutive occasions, struck centuries but failed to get his past the winning line. Moreover, Hope’s efforts helped him rise the ladder in the ICC ODI Batsmen Rankings.

At this point, he sits at number eighth with career-best 780 rating points. Also, his teammate, Shimron Hetmyer didn’t do much damage, as he falls 14 places to number 40th. Furthermore, for Bangladesh, wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is placed at number 15th with his best-ever 712 rating points.
