ICC World Cup 2019: Twitter Reacts as Aaron Finch Powers Australia to 334

Australia posted a gargantuan score of 334 runs after Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and decided to bowl first. Australia’s opener David Warner and Aaron Finch once again provided a good start as they added 80 runs for the opening partnership. The Australian captain was more aggressive whereas David Warner took the backseat.
Warner chewed 48 balls for 26 runs. The southpaw batsman was looking to cut Dhananjaya de Silva and he got an inside edge on to the stumps. Usman Khawaja who batted at number three also could not get going and Dhananjaya de Silva accounted for the southpaw batsman.
Australia has put their noses in front.
Australia was 100-2 and the stage was set for Steven Smith. Meanwhile, Aaron Finch continued his assault against the depleted Sri Lankan bowling. The Island nation bowling looked toothless and Aaron Finch made most of it. The Australian skipper batted with a long handle and took the Sri Lankan bowlers to the cleaners.
On the other hand, Steven Smith worked the ball into the gaps to get his singles in the early phase of his innings. The captain and former skipper added a massive partnership of 173 runs to put their noses in front. In the meantime, Aaron Finch completed his 150 and clobbered 15 fours and five sixes in his blistering knock. Finch scored his 14th ODI hundred and brought his piece de resistance.
Furthermore, Steven Smith also batted at the top of his game and scored a fine knock of 73 runs from 59 balls. The right-hander scored seven fours and one six in his knock.
Moreover, the stage was set for the assault of Glenn Maxwell. The combative batsman provided the finishing touches as he was able to hit the ground running. The right-hander thwarted a blistering knock of 46 runs from 25 balls.
However, Australia once again could not add the finishing touches like in the match against Pakistan. Sri Lanka bounced back in the death overs to pick up regular wickets.

Aaron Finch now has the highest WC score by an Australian captain, passing Ponting's 140*. It's a fairly decent knock. #AUSvSL #CWC19

Brilliant watching the guru @AaronFinch5 make a ton.
Not so brilliant telling the kids at the start of the innings they can stay up until Finchy gets out…

Steve Smith's wicket was Lasith Malinga's 100th ODI wicket via 'bowled'. He is only the 5th bowler to bag 100 bowled wickets in ODI cricket. #CWC19 #AUSvSL

Hope I don’t put the Moz on him, but never seen Aaron Finch’s technique look better than the last two games. When Amir was hooping them down the line early, he was balanced with great access. RT Ponting magic dust?
