England’s fielding in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 has been outstanding. Ben Stokes had taken a splendid catch in the tournament’s opener against South Africa at mid-wicket when he had plucked the catch above 2.5 meters from the ground. The hosts’ fielding continued to impress as Chris Woakes covered great ground to take a spectacular catch at extra cover.

Woakes moved from long-off to extra cover when Imam-ul Haq made use of his feet to play an inside out shot against Moeen Ali. The southpaw batsman scored 44 runs from 58 balls with the help of three fours and one six.

Woakes dived to his right to take a Jaffa.

Earlier, Pakistan got off to a much better start as their openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam ul-Haq added 82 runs for the opening stand. Pakistan had floundered against Windies when they were tested by the short-pitched deliveries. However, the Men in Green came up with a much better performance with the bat as they were prepared for the challenge.

Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman was dismissed when Jos Buttler come up with a smart stumping. Moeen Ali gave the much-needed breakthrough to the hosts as both the southpaw openers were going strong for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s openers were able to make most of the good batting conditions after England’s skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bowl first. The openers added 69 runs in the first ten overs to give an ideal start to their team.

However, Jason Roy dropped a sitter when Mohammad Hafeez was on only 14 runs. Roy had his sunglasses on his cap and must have lost the ball against the Sun.

Both of these teams are playing their second match of the World Cup. England had won their opener against South Africa whereas Pakistan lost against Windies.

Here is the fine catch from Chris Woakes:
