Veteran Indian fast-bowler Ashish Nehra is all set to play his last international T20 match at his home ground in Delhi at Feroz Shah Kotla.

India are currently playing Australia in a three-match T20I series, which is level at 1-1 after the first two games, the decider will take place in Hyderabad on Friday (13th October).

After the Australian series, India’s home season will continue, as the Men in Blue will take on the Kiwis in six limited overs fixtures (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is). New Zealand’s tour of India 2017 begins on 22nd October with the first ODI is scheduled to be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

There were reports that, Delhi-born fast-bowler is about to say goodbye to international cricket but it is now official that he will take the field for the last time on 1st November in the first of three T20Is against New Zealand.

Ashish Nehra has played two World Cups for India, in 2003 the team lost in the finals against Australia, whereas in 2011 Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team won the World Cup after 28 years.

Ashish Nehra was recently recalled to the Indian squad for the T20s against Australia after missing cricket for seven months due to injury. He is yet to play a game in the ongoing series but his selection certainly showed how much he’s working on his fitness. In his career of 18 years, Nehra has suffered a total of 12 injuries which cut-short his career to a large extent.

He will be getting a fitting farewell, as he will play his last international game in front of his home crowd and on a ground where it all began for the left-arm quick.
