Former Indian chief selector Kris Srikkanth bought mixed results during his tenure. Under him, while India managed to win the World Cup; however, suffered humiliating Test series losses in Australia and England after that. But the silver lining was the emergence of Virat Kohli, which Kris Srikkanth labels as his achievement, having backed him during his initial days.

Virat Kohli has transformed as one of the greatest cricketers today, having reigned supreme in all three formats. In the last few years, the Indian captain his taken the world by storm with his extraordinary rate of run-scoring and currently averages above 50 in Tests, ODIs, as well as T20Is.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also made his debut under Srikkanth, receiving his first cap in 2010. He has so far featured in 111 ODIs and 71 Tests. At present, the 33-year old is the national team’s first-choice spinner in Test cricket, having picked up 365 wickets at 25.43.

While Murali Vijay may not find himself back in the Indian side, Kohli and Ashwin have solidified their spots.
