England takes on Pakistan in the second Test in Multan from December 9-13. The visitors won the first Test by 74 runs and are looking for an elusive Test series win against Pakistan. The Test series is a part of the ongoing World Test Championship. England are placed seventh on the table currently.

England skipper Ben Stokes spoke about not thinking about losing a Test match at all under their new Bazball approach. The side scored 657 in the first innings. Pakistan in response scored 579. They declared their second innings on 266/7 in less than 37 overs and asked England to chase 343 to win.

As it turned out, the hosts succumbed under pressure and lost the Test by 74 runs. James Anderson and Ollie Robinson took four wickets each helping their side notch up a memorable win. The team will be looking to both of them once again to replicate their performance.

Crawley scored 122 and 50 in the first Test. He was struggling for form till the last Ashes series against Australia but has bounced back well. He is the second-highest run-getter in the series so far and will open the batting.

Duckett will open the batting with Crawley. He was one of the four England batters to score a ton in the first Test. The southpaw scored 107 in the first innings and bagged a duck in the second.

Ollie Pope

Pope will slot in at three. He scored 108 and 15 in the two innings of the first Test. The right-hand batter has scored 31 Test matches scoring just over 166 runs at an average of 32.22.

Joe Root

Root will bat at number four in the lineup. He scored 23 in the first innings and 73 in the second. He was the only batter in the top order who missed out on a big score in Rawalpindi. So far in 2022, he has scored 1069 runs in 13 matches.

Harry Brook

Brook scored a ton in his debut Test for England batting at number five in Rawalpindi. The England debutant scored 153 in the first innings and 87 in the second. He will bat at number five in Multan as well.

Stokes the skipper will slot in at six. He scored 41 in the first innings and a duck in the second. He picked up one wicket in the first Test. So far this year, he has scored 738 runs and taken 26 wickets.

Foakes can replace Liam Livingstone in the batting order. He is also a specialist keeper and can take over the gloves from Ollie Pope. Foakes played his last Test against South Africa earlier this year in September.

Jacks made his Test debut in the first Test in Rawalpindi. He will retain his place at number 8. He scored 30 and 24 with the bat and picked up six wickets.

Ollie Robinson

Robinson will slot in at number nine. He scored 37 in the first innings and picked up five wickets in the first Test. He has picked up 19 wickets in four Test matches this year.

James Anderson

The veteran Anderson will lead the seam attack for England. He took five wickets in the first Test So far in 2022, he has picked up 33 wickets in 8 Test matches.

Leach concludes England’s likely playing XI for the second Test. He picked up three wickets in the first Test. So far this year, he has picked up 34 wickets in 12 matches.
