PBKS Vs RCB: Watch - Jitesh Sharma Bags A Stunner As Virat Kohli Departs Following Crucial Knock For RCB

In the ongoing match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are struggling the contain the assault from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). However, with Punjab managing to pick the wickets of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis In rapid succession, PBKS will hope that they can now contain RCB to a decent chaseable total on the board.

In their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), PBKS struggled during their chase of 160 and kept losing wickets. However, Sikandar Raza and Shahrukh Khan’s efforts in finding boundaries and adding finishing touches helped them secure a win.

RCB had a great start with Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis providing the team with a 137 run stand in the first 16 overs. The duo could have continued to pile up the pain on Bangalore had it not been for Harpreet Brar who provided Punjab with a much-needed breakthrough in the first delivery of the 17th over to dismiss Virat Kohli.

The bowler pitched in a flatter delivery just outside the stumps as Virat Kohli tried to go for a paddle sweep but did not get his timing correct as the ball found the inner edge of the bat and looped up in the air towards Jitesh Sharma jumped to his left as the keeper made no mistake in collecting the catch.

Jitesh Sharma seemed confident in completing the catch as the umpires went upstairs for a check where it seemed that there was a spike when the ball passed the bat and the keeper had completed a fair catch.

Glenn Maxwell on the other hand tried to go big from the get-go and paid the price for it as the batter tried to go up and over on the second delivery of the 17th over but misjudged the ball as he ended by slicing the ball to Atharva Taide on the covers.

At the end of their innings RCB have managed to score a total of 174 runs on the board which could be somewhat disappointing for the team following a great start from Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis.

However, Punjab Kings will be confident following their effort to restrict RCB to a decent total and will surely fancy their chances in the contest.
