The stylish southpaw Ishan Kishan suffered an injury when he faced Billy Stanlake in the final of the Quadrangular Series 2018. Representing India B Kishan was writhing in pain when he sustained the injury with the new ball.
The physio rushed in the middle, and the symptoms indeed seem like a fracture or possibly a broken finger. However, he was quickly rushed back to the dressing room in the all-important game.
As it happened:
It was on the 1st ball of the seventh over of the second innings when Stanlake was delivering for Australia. He cracked it in his usual short of good length delivery which got an unusual bounce on it.
The ball struck on the finger of Kishan, who screamed before he walked off the field.
Indian bowlers restricted Australia to 225; Ishan Kishan had an injury scare:
Earlier in the day, Manish Pandey-led side won the toss and opted to chase in the final of the tournament. Justifying the decision, Indian bowlers responded quite nicely. They sent last match centurion Usman Khawaja for 23 while Travis Head registered a duck to his name to make things miserable for the visitors.
Marnus Labuschagne too faltered to stay at the crease. However, D’Arcy Short and Alex Carey hold the crease for quite a period to score individual fifties. Just when things looked quite good for Australia, D’Arcy Short walked back.
Ashton Agar tried to give his hand, but Indian bowlers were too good for the tail-enders. They cleaned up rest of the lineup to restrict Australia for a mere 225 runs on the board.
