Revealed: This Is What The Fan Told Ben Stokes That Made The Allrounder Swear At Him

Ben Stokes, on Friday, raised a number of eyebrows with his stunning x-rated rant at a young fan during the first Test between England and South Africa. As he was walking off the field after his dismissal, he was filmed using expletives in a reaction to a comment from the crowd.

Ben Stokes was out for just two, his lowest score in an otherwise fine series for him with both bat and ball. He had been caught in the slips by Rassie van der Dussen as England fell to 157 for 4 on day one in Johannesburg. And as Ben Stokes was about to climb the stairs, he turned toward the crowd and launched a x-rated rant.

He was caught on camera calling a cricket fan a ‘f***ing four-eyed c***’ as he made his way to the dressing room in Johannesburg. “Say it to me outside the ground you f***ing four-eyed c***,” he said while storming into the dressing room.

The reason behind the outburst:

Soon after the incident, Ben Stokes issued an apology. In his statement, he called his behaviour unprofessional but also stated that he was the victim of “repeated abuse” from the crowd while he was walking off the field. And it looks like he was indeed abused.

According to The Guardian, the witnesses said that a middle-aged man, wearing a South Africa one-day cricket team shirt, had targeted Ben Stokes. The South Africa fan called the England star a “ginger c**t” and likened him to pop star Ed Sheeran which eventually made the player snap at him.

Talking about the game, England posted their first century opening stand in more than three years only to lose four wickets for 50 runs on a fluctuating first day. Zak Crawley scored his maiden half-century and added 107 runs with Dom Sibley for the first wicket.

But England lost four wickets in quick succession to find themselves reeling at 157 for 4.  It was left to captain Joe Root and Ollie Pope to steady the ship for England and they did as the tourists were on 192 for 4 when bad light ended play.
