Rishabh Pant, who made headlines for chirping behind the stumps in Adelaide Test, didn’t justify his actions, as he dropped Shaun Marsh on day one of the Perth Test. The Australia batsman, who edged one off Hanuma Vihari, escaped, as Pant failed to hold onto the grab.

Meanwhile, the incident took place in the 67th over of the first innings, as Marsh tried to cut the ball with hard hands. Vihari, who was continuously bowling outside the off stump, made Marsh go for the cut short. However, he was a tad late on it, as Vihari was mixing his pace superbly. Though Marsh edged the ball, Pany couldn’t grab it comfortably.

In addition to, the other fielders had shown their anger with words, as he dropped a costly catch. Shaun Marsh was in form and partnered 50 plus runs with Travis Head. Marsh was looking good, and his wicket would have turned the game for India. Also, Rishabh Pant could assume the consequences and gone quite behind the stumps.

Furthermore, the fans were not happy with the incident and had started to lash out at Pant who made a terrific mistake. However, it would be interesting to see if he can compensate for the error with his bat.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test in Perth after India captain Virat Kohli called wrong. Australia had fielded an unchanged XI into the match, while India was forced into two changes following injuries to ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and hard-hitting batter Rohit Sharma.
