Twitter Slams Jofra Archer For Smiling After Nasty Blow To Steve Smith

Steve Smith suffered a nasty blow on his head on day four of the 2nd Ashes Test against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The injury looked severe as Smith went down soon after copping the blow which reminded everyone of the sad memory of Phil Hughes. Meanwhile, England pacer Jofra Archer was seen smiling after bowling the deadly bouncer which didn’t go down well with the fans who questionned his sportsman spirit

The drama unfolded soon after lunch as Steve Smith was once again at his task of reviving the Aussie innings. Australia were 70 for four at one stage when the former skipper stood tall to bring his side out of danger. But English debutant Jofra Archer bowled one of the deadliest spells during that period, the Test cricket has ever seen. Smith got hit on his forearm while batting on 70 from Archer. He dropped his bat soon after as the area started to swell rapidly.

But the climax arrived 10 runs later when a deadly bouncer from Jofra Archer caught Steve Smith off-guard. The Australian batsman dropped his eye to an almost 150 kmph delivery which hit him below his helmet in the neck. He immediately fell and removed his helmet as the Lord’s crowd let out a collective gasp while the Australian medical staff rushed out to the middle. Archer was seen laughing with his teammate Jos Buttler instead of checking on the batsman.

The incident caught the attention of the fans who slammed the Barbados-born pacer. Many also questionned the sportsman spirit of Jofra Archer.
