Chris Gayle’s indifferent knock of 10-ball 10 finally came to an end as he eventually fell to the trap set by Chennai Super Kings seamer, Deepak Chahar.

Deepak Chahar, who had undone Mayank Agarwal with an unplayable outswinger; one that pitched on middle and leg before squaring up the opener completely to knock the top of off-stump, could have got ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle on the last ball of the first over when he lulled the southpaw into an ill-fated drive on an away angler.

Gayle, as usual, played the drive with minimal foot movement, only to see Ruturaj Gaikwad drop a dolly at the point.

He wasn’t that lucky on the 2nd delivery of Deepak Chahar’s third over.

Once again, Chahar bowled the knuckle-ball, and Gayle, who did not pick it, sliced it to the point where Ravindra Jadeja took a stunning catch while diving to his right.

Chahar has run riot in the powerplay. The right-handed swing bowler followed Mayank and Chris Gayle’s dismissal with wickets of the dangerous Nicholas Pooran, who once again fell in an attempt to pull the ball before accounting for Deepak Hooda in his 4th over.

Deepak Chahar has notched up his career-best IPL figures, having picked four Punjab Kings wickets for just 13 runs, including a wicket-maiden.
