Team India continued their dream run in the ODI series against the Proteas and took an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the six-match series at the Newlands in Cape Town.

For yet another time, Indian skipper Virat Kohli went on to smash an international century and made the South African bowling look clueless.

He survived a close shave early on in the innings. He was originally given out by umpire Ian Gould, but a review showed that there was a clear spike in the Snickometer which made Gould overturn the decision.

It was the much-needed lift for Kohli, as he cashed in on the opportunity and went on to make amends by remaining unbeaten on a sensational 160 of 159 deliveries, an innings which was studded with 12 fours and a couple of hits over the fence.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan also chipped in with a brilliant 76 and shared an impressive stand of 140 runs with skipper Kohli. Courtesy Kohli’s 34 ODI century and some exceptional shots, India finished their innings on 303/6 at the end of their allotted 50 overs. Kohli has been in a rich vein of forms across all three formats of the game and followed his century in the opening ODI with another classy knock.

34 centuries in such a short career is something all cricketer dreams of, but Kohli’s dedication and fitness level have allowed remaining at the top of his game despite playing so much in the recent past.

He has been a man from a different planet and the way he has scored runs has left everyone dumfound. All cricket pundits, experts and former cricketer are awestruck with Kohli’s progress, and it was no different after the Delhi lad reached his 34th ODI century.
