IPL 2018: Watch - Mahendra Singh Dhoni Thrash Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir in Nets
Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s dwindling finishing abilities are very much visible now. Considered as one of the best finishers in the history of the game, the former India skipper has struggled to bat as per his reputation in recent times. Not surprisingly, he has faced widespread criticism for his uncharacteristic batting.
And the 36-year old was in for more criticism for his batting in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) so far.
In the first game against Mumbai India, he did not last long. The veteran batsman scored five off four balls before being dismissed by teenage leg-spinner Mayank Markande.
In the following game against Kolkata Knight Riders, he was back to his newly adapted cautions batting.
Despite his side needing more than 10 runs per over in pursuit of 203, Dhoni did not take the attack to the opposition.
In fact, he ended up his innings with a strike-rate of less than 100. The talismanic skipper scored 25 off 28 and faced the wrath across social media. But while his on-field performance would suggest that he has lost his mojo, his batting in a recent practise session puts up a different picture altogether.
In a recent video, Mahendra Singh Dhoni could be seen taking his teammates to cleaners.
The likes of Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir could not do much but see the ball sailing over their head as Dhoni looked in fine touch.
Well, Chennai Super Kings would be hoping their captain fantastic shows the same form on the field.

Meanwhile, the Super Kings have begun their comeback season on a stunning note.
In their first two games, they have defeated two of the most successful teams in the league – Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. They will be up against Kings XI Punjab in their third game on Sunday evening.
