Of late, probably, last six months have been tremendous for Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. He is peaking at this stage in his career and crossing all the obstacles with his excellent piece of bowling. Meanwhile, the former England cricketer, Graeme Swann calls him the best spinner in T20 cricket.

Graeme Swann is awestruck by Rashid Khan’s brilliance in the T20 games. He feels there is no spinner as of now to take a look away from the Afghanistan leggie, as far as shortest version of the game is concerned.

Spinners need variations – Graeme Swann

Though the current crop of spinners is looking for more changes than their usual stock ball, they got criticised for doing that. Meanwhile, Graeme Swann feels the bowler should have the variations in their arsenal.

He furtherly spoke on how ‘Doosra’ bowling is getting faded away from the game of cricket with the emergence of the 15-degree rule.

Personally, Graeme Swann feels the rule not to cross 15 degrees is a fair enough mandatory.

”But you need variations, don’t you? I didn’t have a doosra and I used to bowl with a straighter arm, but I used to vary the spin and pace. Spin bowling is also a lot about bravado. I was good at that,” Swann quoted.

”No doosra can’t be bowled without bending the arm, but I won’t give you a headline saying that all doosra bowlers chuck. But since that 15-degree rule came in the doosra bowlers disappeared from the game and that tells the story. But I feel there should be no bend in the arm at all, it should be ramrod straight,” he added.

I would love to see Rashid Khan getting successful in Tests – Graeme Swann

The former England cricketer feels there is no bowler close to Rashid Khan and wants him to perform well in Test cricket as well.

”In T20s you can’t look beyond Rashid Khan. He has a fast arm, great googly and is a brilliant story as well. Rashid is just a very exciting cricketer. I would love to see him be successful in Tests as well, as and when he gets to play regularly,” he inferred.

However, it would be interesting to see how Rashid Khan would perform in the future. As on now, he is a storm to reckon in the limited overs format of the game. Hopefully, he will attain success in Tests as well.
