The ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand saw the Kiwis winning the inaugural edition of the tournament at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. Marnus Labuschagne was phenomenal in the World Test Championship at the top of the order for Australia and he kept on piling up runs for his nation. He is still relatively new to international cricket but has established himself as one of the most important batsmen in the Australian batting order.
Lasuchagne topped the batting charts in the World Test Championship with 1675 runs from 13 tests at a stunning average of 72.82. He scored five centuries and nine fifties in the tournament with the highest score of 215. Labuschagne thoroughly deserves to be the player of the tournament for his batting exploits.
Pat Cummins:
Pat Cummins had an outstanding World Test Championship being the highest wicket-taker for Australia in the tournament. He also finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament overall with 70 wickets in 14 Tests at an average of 21.02.
He picked up just one five-wicket haul in the tournament but always a consistent wicket-taker hitting the right lengths at good speeds. He is currently the number one ranked bowler in ICC test rankings and he deserves to the man of the tournament.
Kyle Jamieson:
Kyle Jamieson has been a great find for New Zealand so far and he won the man of the match award in the final of the ICC World Test Championship finals. The tall lanky New Zealand pacer has been very impressive so far in the tournament with 43 wickets in 7 Tests at an average of 12.53.
He is also an excellent batsman down the order and played a crucial hand in few games. Ravichandran Ashwin:
Ravichandran Ashwin has been the star of the show for India and he is one of the reasons behind India making it to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship. Ashwin finished as the top wicket-taker in the tournament with 71 wickets in 14 Tests at an average of 20.33.
Ashwin also scored an important century in the England tests that led the way for an Indian win and have played a lot of valiant knocks for India in the whites. He picked up four fifers in the tournament with the best figures of 7 wickets for 145 runs. The off-spinner is the number one candidate for the man of the tournament award.
