Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh stated that the Indian team led by Virat Kohli has its bowling bases covered and should hold them in good stead when compared to other teams. The bowlers are well versed to defend targets above 150, said Harbhajan.

Team India played two warmup matches against England and Australia, beating them by six and eight wickets respectively. The wins will boost their confidence when they go up against arch-rivals, Pakistan, on October 24 in Dubai to kick off their Super-12 stage.

Batting first, 170 will be a very competitive total on the pitches of the UAE. And with the bowling line-up, India have they can defend any target. If India scores anything above 150, they can bank on this bowling attack to deliver them the match.

India’s bowling will give them an edge over other teams in the T20 World Cup. With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravinder Jadeja, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, it is a class bowling line-up,” Harbhajan said on Salaam Cricket 2021.

Will back Indian team to defend even 140 at Sharjah – Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh further asserted that the bowling attack can defend low totals at a ground like Sharjah, where the boundary sizes are quite skewed in favour of the batsmen.

I will back the Indian bowling attack to defend even 140 at the Sharjah pitch. But again, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, it will be different. Those two grounds are high scoring,” Harbhajan commented.

India is grouped alongside Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Scotland, and one more qualifier.
