Sohaib Maqsood’s Spot In Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2021 Squad Uncertain After Injury Scare

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2021 squad could see some changes after there are concerns over big-hitter Sohaib Maqsood’s back injury just days before the ICC mega event begins on October 17 and will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman, while India is hosting the tournament.
Changes are still expected in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad as Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim met with captain Babar Azam and vice-captain Shadab Khan for discussion. A decision on whether Maqsood will be part of the squad will be taken after assessing his medical report, who was taken for an MRI following the injury.
Pakistan has been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12s round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 along with arch-rivals India, Afghanistan, and New Zealand, apart from two qualifiers from the first round of the tournament.
Pakistan Squad To Have A 10-Day Camp In Lahore Before Flying To UAE For T20 World Cup 2021
The T20 World Cup-bound Pakistan squad will hold a seven-day training and conditioning camp under bio-secure protocols at the National High-Performance Centre and LCCA ground, Lahore, from Sunday, October 10.
On October 8, members of the Pakistani squad and their family members will join the bio-secure and undergo Covid-19 testing upon arrival. After returning negative tests, the players will be allowed to commence their preparations from Sunday with the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC) gym sessions.
Training sessions will be held for the Pakistan players at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) ground at 1:30 pm from October 11-12. A practice match will be played under lights on October 14. It will start at 6 pm. No training activity has been scheduled for October 13.
The squad will depart for Dubai on October 15. Pakistan will play India in their first match of the tournament on October 24 in Dubai.
