T20 World Cup 2021: I Have KL Rahul Down As The Top Run-scorer In The Tournament, Says Brett Lee

Former Australian speedster Brett Lee has predicted that opening batsman of Team India KL Rahul will be the leading run-scorer in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

India National Cricket Team is placed in the Group 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan. The Men In Blue will commence their journey Super12s with a battle against arch-rivals Pakistan which will be led by Babar Azam, on 24 October in Dubai.

Brett Lee reckons that India are favourites to win the tournament considering the strong top-order batting unit and a good bowling department. He stated:

“I think India are probably the favourites with their top four or five batters and their bowling attack.”

Brett Lee Predicts Mohammed Shami To Be The Leading wicket-taker In ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021

Former Australian bowler picked KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) teammate Mohammed Shami to be the leading wicket-taker in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 considering his good form in the last few months. Lee stated:

“I have KL Rahul down as the top run-scorer in the tournament and Mohammed Shami to be the leading wicket-taker, purely going on the last few months.”

“So if they deliver and India have one of the leading run-scorers and wicket-takers, it’s a good start,” Lee wrote in his column for International Cricket Council.

Notably, Opener KL Rahul has done a brilliant job with the bat in the last few T20 games. In two warm-up games, he returned with the score of 51 and 39. Overall in the last 5 matches, Rahul has smashed 3 fifties with his lowest score being 39. Talking about Shami he has picked 9 wickets in the last 5 T20 games.
