Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Saba Karim feels that incoming Indian head coach Rahul Dravid will be aiming at winning the upcoming ICC World Cups.

Notably, Head Coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar’s tenures ended after India’s last match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Also, Virat Kohli stepped down from the T20I captaincy, and Rohit Sharma is expected to take over the captain’s role in the T20I cricket.

Speaking on YouTube channel Khelneeti, Saba Karim said: “Dravid’s immediate goal should be winning both these World Cups. 2022 in Aus and 2023 one. The way Rahul Dravid plans and the way he sets systems in place, the processes that he makes, his intentions would be to win these titles.”

Karim opined that Dravid will also be eying winning the ICC World Test Championship, and he suggested Dravid to manage the workload of the players properly.

He should also be putting his focus on the ICC Test Championship’s new cycle that would be starting with the series against NZ series. It is very important that Rahul Dravid begins with new thoughts and approaches. Also should keep an eye on workload management and the changing scope of T20 cricket,” he said.

India won their last ICC trophy back in 2013 under the leadership of legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni, and since then, no trophy has been added to India’s cabinet. Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid will be looking forward to finally ending India’s trophy drought with the 2022 T20 World Cup and the 2023 World Cup approaching.

If We Talk About Legacies, Then This Duo ( Ravi Shastri+Virat Kohli) Is Leaving Behind A Great Legacy – Saba Karim

The duo of Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli did wonders for team India across all three formats, and India became a dominant force in World Cup in both home and away conditions. The only thing the duo missed out on was the major ICC trophy.

Talking about the Kohli-Shastri duo, Karim said that they are leaving behind a great legacy in the longest format of the game.

If we talk about legacies, then this duo (Shastri+VK) is leaving behind a great legacy in Test cricket. It has been a great period for Indian cricket. India gave a good performance in England and twice in Australia. India have now proved that they are not only well equipped to win home series, but away series as well,” he asserted.

Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Saba Karim further added: “India now have a fair idea of how to acclimatize to the foreign conditions and dominate. India have to carry with the Test cricket legacy that Shastri and Kohli have left behind. But, India could not progress in white-ball cricket as much as they would have liked,”
