T20 World Cup 2021: Watch - Mohammad Shahzad Grabs A Crisp Catch To Dismiss Matthew Cross
Afghanistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad held on to an excellent catch to dismiss Scotland batsman, Matthew Cross. The two sides are engaged in their first Super 12 match of the 2021 T20 World Cup in Sharjah.
Batting first, Afghanistan put up a mammoth total of 190 on the board. The top four batsmen all chipped in with useful contributions, and Najibullah Zadran top-scored with 59 off 34 balls, a knock that included five fours and three sixes.
In the run chase, Scotland was jolted thrice in the space of two overs, with Mujeeb ur Rahman doing most of the damage. The young Afghan spinner was impossible to read for the Scottish and he ran through the top order. Soon after, Naveen-ul-Haq chipped in with a wicket of his own.
He dismissed Matthew Cross but a lot of the credit goes to Shahzad. Cross attempted a cover drive to a full delivery but only got a thick outside edge. The ball flew towards Shahzad’s right and the keeper flung himself and grabbed onto it with two hands to complete a stunning catch.
