ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Country Wise One Player Who Can Win The Man of the Tournament Award

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is the biggest ICC event this year. This is the first time that the T20 World Cup will be played in two successive years. This is part of ICC’s plans to have an ICC event every year. Australia will host the event this year after winning the title last year.
A total of 16 teams are part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Out of these, 8 teams are part of the Qualifier round while 8 are part of the Super 12 round. In the Qualifier round, there are teams like Sri Lanka, Namibia, UAE, Netherlands, West Indies, Scotland, Zimbabwe, and Ireland.
Out of these teams, 4 teams will qualify for the super 12 round of T20 World Cup 2022. In the super 12 round, 8 teams have been confirmed. They are Australia, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. There are divided into 2 groups. Group 1 has Australia, England, New Zealand and Afghanistan. Group two has India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh and South Africa.
The qualifiers will start on October 16 while the main round from October 23. The final will be played on November 13. Meanwhile, in this article, we will predict one player from each country who can win the Man of the Tournament Award.
ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Country Wise One Player Who Can Win The Man of the Tournament Award
Warner was the Player of The Tournament last year helping the Aussies to win the T20World Cup last year. He scored 289 runs and was adjudged the Player of the Tournament last year. There is no reason why he can’t replicate his feat and win another Player of the Tournament award in 2022.

England: Jos Buttler
England’s hopes are pinned on Jos Buttler’s batting prowess as a top-notch T20 cricketer. He has found form in the bigger tournament and will be his side’s biggest hope in the mega event. He will hope that the other senior players in the squad can also play their roles to perfection and help England win their second T20 World Cup title.
New Zealand: Trent Boult
Boult picked up 13 wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and played a big role in helping his side reach the final of the tournament last year. In the pacey and bouncy wickets of Australia, Boult will be the biggest hope for the Kiwis in terms of wickets. He will look to have another big season this year.
Pakistan: Babar Azam
Azam, the Pakistan skipper will be his side’s biggest hope in the T20 World Cup 2022. He scored 303 runs and ended as the highest run-getter in the tournament. His opening partner Mohammad Rizwan ended as the third-highest run-getter with 281 runs. Both of them and their batting form will define the campaign for Pakistan.
Sri Lanka : Wanindu Hasaranga
Hasaranga ended with 16 wickets to finish the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as the highest wicket-taker. In this transitional Lankan side, he is one of the matchwinners in white-ball cricket. He will need to have another big season with the ball to end as the highest wicket-taker this year and to win the Man of the Tournament award.
Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan
Bangladesh’s biggest matchwinner Shakib Al Hasan will be once again their trump card in the T20 World Cup 2022. He ended with 11 wickets and scored crucial runs as well for his team. With Tamim Iqbal retiring from the T20I format, the onus of scoring runs is back on Shakib.
West Indies: Andre Russell
Russell is one of the key players for the West Indies with both bat and ball. He is devastating with the bat if he finds his range and with the ball, he can bowl defining overs for West Indies. With so many of the Windies players accustomed to playing T20 cricket, Russell is among the biggest matchwinners in the side.
South Africa: Rassie Van der Dussen
Van der Dussen is among the consistent scorers for South Africa in recent times. He has scored for the side across formats and across opponents and conditions. Alongside Quinton de Kock, the right-hander is one of the better T20 batsmen for South Africa. He can definitely win the Player of the Tournament award.
Afghanistan: Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is Afghanistan’s biggest trump card in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. He picked up 8 wickets from five games in the last year’s tournament and will be their biggest hope this year as well.
Ireland: Harry Tector
The 22-year-old middle-order batsman has been very promising in the last couple of years. In the recent T20I series against India and in the ODI series against the Kiwis, he has scored heaps of runs for the Irish side. WIth batting being their stronger suit, Tector along with Paul Stirling are the two better batsmen in the side.
Namibia: David Wiese
Wiese is playing his trade for the Namibian national cricket team. He played the T20 World Cup last year for them and scored 227 runs. Being an experienced T20 cricketer, he will be the side’s biggest hope heading into the tournament this year as well. Besides his batting, his bowling also is crucial for the African side.

India: Rohit Sharma
Rohit will lead the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2022. He has been a prolific run-scorer in ICC events for India. He scored five centuries in the ICC World Cup 2019. Being the captain, he is sizing up to score big runs in the T20 World Cup as well. He can very well be the Player of the Tournament Candidate from the Indian team.
