IND vs ENG: I Am Just Going Out And Exploding – Suryakumar Yadav On His Sensational Form

The No.1 ranked T20I batter in the world Suryakumar Yadav while reflecting on his sensational form in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, said that he is “just going out and exploding”.

Suryakumar has been in absolutely stunning form in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Currently, he is the third-highest run-getter in the tournament with 225 runs in his bag in 5 games at an average of 75.00 and a strike rate of 193.96.

Speaking with Ravichandran Ashwin for a BCCI video, Suryakumar said he only sees the gaps when he goes out to bat.

“I only see the gaps in the field when I go in to bat. I have just been enjoying batting whenever I go inside. Just in a completely different zone altogether,” said Suryakumar.

He added that he has succeeded most of the time while playing unorthodox shots, which has boosted his confidence.

“I have succeeded a lot of times rather than failing while playing these shots, so the confidence is really high. I am just going out and exploding. That’s it,” Suryakumar added.

I have always enjoyed batting on big grounds – Suryakumar Yadav

Star India National Cricket Team middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav further said that he has always enjoyed batting on big grounds.

“Coming here (in Australia), I have always enjoyed batting on big grounds. Because I see those big pockets, I see the gap and I hit the gap and I run if I am in pressure or anything. So it hasn’t been a problem for me till now,” said Suryakumar.

The 32-year-old added that he practised a lot on the bouncy surface of the Wankhede Stadium to prepare himself for the World Cup in Australia.

“Everyone asks this one question, that you have never been to Australia, bouncy fast tracks and big grounds, you have never played there. What is your preparation going to be like, but I said the same thing? When I practice back home, I practice at Wankhede, where the bounce is pretty good. Though the ground is not that big, the bounce is the same and they prepare good fast tracks for me so I practice a lot over there,” Suryakumar added.
