India will be playing a two-match T20I series against Ireland in June after the Test and the ODI series against England. All the senior players of the team might skip the tour due to their involvement in the Test series. As per reports, VVS Laxman might be the coach of the side for the tour.

Meanwhile, senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be rested from the series as they will have to play a key role later in the year with the T20 World Cup in Australia. The BCCI is likely to announce the squad shortly.

The squad is expected to be a young one and Hardik Pandya possibly is expected to lead the side. However, there are other worthy candidates as well who can lead the side in the absence of Kohli and Rohit.

Shikhar Dhawan was not included in the Indian T20I squad that has been announced for the South Africa series. With all the senior players missing against Ireland, the southpaw can be an ideal choice as captain of the Indian team. He lead the side last year in Sri Lanka when all the senior players in the squad were rested. He can be given the responsibility once again and he will surely do a good job with the side.
