Ireland will play two T20I against India in June after the Men in Blue ends their series against England. India will play a one-off Test, three T20Is and three ODIs between June 1 to 17. The two T20Is against Ireland will be played on June 26 and 28.

With this being the year of the T20 World Cup, many Indian young players will get their opportunity to stake a claim for their inclusion in India’s World Cup squad. With the selectors looking to pick the best players, Gill can be given an opportunity at the top of the order in the series.

Prithvi Shaw

Shaw is another good potential who can be named in the Indian squad for the Ireland series. Shaw too has been scoring consistently in the IPL. He got his chance of playing T20I cricket for India in the series against Sri Lanka last year. With just two matches in the series, young players like Gill, Shaw and others can be tested while the seniors can be rested.

Mukesh Choudhary

He might make it tough to make it to the Indian squad, but Mukesh Choudhary is another good option who can be added to the India squad for the Ireland series. The CSK pacer ended IPL 2022 season with 16 wickets with 11 of them inside the powerplay. The management should try looking at him as an option.

Umran Malik

Umran ends this top 5 list of players. He has been named in the Indian squad announced for the South Africa T20I series. Ideally, he should be added to the Ireland squad as well. Several cricket experts primed Malik to be added to the Indian Test squad that was announced for the one-off Test series against England. His gifted pace has become a subject of the serious topic within the cricketing fraternity.
