The IND vs SA which starts from June 9 in New Delhi brings different challenges for the different players who are picked in the squad. IPL performances have been given due consideration that saw the return of a few players who almost gave up on their careers.

This five-match series gives several of these Indian players a chance to elongate their T20I careers with the T20 World Cup almost knocking on the door. A good performance in the series against South Africa keeps them in contention for the mega event later this year.

However, if they failed to take the opportunity, this might very well be the end of their respective careers in the shortest format of the game. In this article, we take a look at three Indian players for whom this upcoming series can be their last chance to retain their place in the side.

Kuldeep took 21 wickets this season to bring him back in the reckoning to be picked up in the Indian T20I squad. Since the 2019 World Cup, he has been in and out of the Indian squad across formats. His performance for Delhi Capitals this season allowed him to showcase his class and get back into the team.

He needs to perform in all the matches to stay in contention to be picked again for the T20 World Cup. So far, Kuldeep has picked up 41 T20I wickets and can get to 50 wickets if he bowls well.
