Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain after losing the Test series against South Africa. He announced his decision to step down a day after the result. 20 Test Centuries As Captain
Virat Kohli has scored 27 Test tons overall and 20 of them came during his stint as India’s Test captain. He is second only to former South African skipper Graeme Smith who leads the list with 25 tons as captain. Kohli also scored 18 fifties as captain.
5864 Runs As India’s Test Captain
Kohli has scored nearly 6000 runs as India’s Test captain. No other Indian skipper has scored more runs than him and possibly no other Indian skipper can break this record in the future. Graeme Smith with 8659 runs leads the list with the most runs as a captain in Test cricket. He is followed by Allan Border (6623), Ricky Ponting (6542) with Kohli fourth in the all-time list.
